Rocket Lab Facility

For the conceptual design for a Liquid Rocket Lab at a local university, SGH Architects developed a canopy element as part of a small lab building that incorporates an actual rocket. The entrance canopy is designed to evoke an image of a Cape Canaveral rocket launch structure, while still providing a protective and identifying element within the active campus. The concept also suggests, through the penetration of the rocket through the canopy, that the Liquid Rocket Lab program is breaking barriers – figuratively and literally.
